So, I’m forgetful. Like very forgetful. Like, this morning I was getting ready and realized that I’ve been losing Carmex Chapsticks and just buying a new one every day for 3 days.
So, there I was, holding way too many chapsticks. You know, that regular Monday thing we all do. I wonder how I make it through the day sometimes. However I make it, these lips wont be chapped!
Remembering to care for yourself is an especially hard task these days. It’s going to the doctor and buying new shoes and trusting someone to with your body. It’s believing there’s a better way to talk to yourself and learning to love the stupid tattoo you got at 16 again (but seriously, who let me get a “compass/dream catcher combo? My mom, that’s who.) It’s the little things and the too big things that constitute a full circle self-care practice.
I think I wanted to believe that taking care of yourself was just washing your face and saying No. you buy a little space themed toner, tell a relative you don’t wanna have kids and you’re healed, you know? Well not exactly.
What do you do for yourself? When you really settle down and think about it, how many times have you taken care of your self today?
So with that, what’s going on in High & Mighty’s world?
The website/Quilt Commissions
Well Chile, we are gearing up! Opening the website up March 20th and getting the quilt commissions course up and running right after means we busy, girl! I’m gonna release the commissions registry about one week before the website goes up officially so look out for that! These one-on-one commissions are so exciting for me to start so be prepared for that! I’m also gonna start a chat here to just brainstorm through ideas and ask folx what they want to see! I want your feedback as much as possible!
Workshops
We’re working on a group Improve Quilting workshop for folx who don’t have the accessibility to the one-on-ones. We’re hoping to have the first one on the books around April! We’ll also be releasing some lesson plans to give folx a look at how those workshops will be led! We’ll be pulling together some pilot groups just to try out the classes first so stay super tuned to that!
With all that being had said, i’m really looking forward to the launches and gatherings around my practice and the care we can all provide each other. Mhmm, we moving as a unit these days. In joy and fierce determination.
So, let me go wash my face before I forget!
